Jimmy Shergill and Manissha Lamba starrer bollywood movie “Yahaan” was released under the banners of Sahara One and Redice Films Production. The movie is directed by Shoojit Sircar and was released on July 29, 2005. Other cast of the movie includes Yashpal Sharma, Mukesh Tiwari, Gyan Prakash, Dolly Ahluwalia and Palak Jain who have played significant roles in the movie. The music of the movie is composed and directed by Nizami Bandhu. The songs of the movie are sung in their beautiful voice by Nizami Bandhu, Sameeruddin, Abhishek Arora, Shaan and Shreya Ghoshal.

The movie Yahaan is the debut movie of new comer Soojit Sircar as the director of a bollywood movie. The movie had a great plot which is shot in the back drop of beautiful Kashmir. The story is a bit like popular movie Roza which also portrayed a love story in the backdrop of Kashmir. The only difference this time is that the love story is of a Kashmiri girl and an army officer. The movie had a great plot but it lacks in the storyline. The initial pace of the movie is too slow and things like insurgency and other terrorist related activities seem to be forcefully stuffed in the script. The story of the movie starts focusing on an officer in the Indian Army, Captain Aman ( Jimmy Shergill ) who is posted in the valley of Kashmir.

One day he incidentally bumped into a beautiful Kashmiri girl Ada ( Manissha Lamba )and he felt attracted towards her. Soon both fell in love with each other. But this relation is not accepted in the valley as girls of Kashmir are not allowed to make any sort of relation with any outsider. There love story faced the opposition not just from Ada’s family but from the whole community and militants also started taking against this. Aman was court marshaled for letdown in an encounter. Now Ada took the charge of proving him innocent, she went to every one from political leaders to the media for help. The movie had a great plot and seems to achieve the target which it vouched for but somehow, it movie is not able to make a mark in the memory of the viewers.
