Urmila Matondkar and Arjun Rampal starrer bollywood drama movie “Tehzeeb” was released on December 5, 2003. The movie is directed by Khalid Mohammed under the banners of The Culture Company and 7 Studio Picture. The supporting cast of the movie includes Shabana Azmi, Dia Mirza, Rishi Kapoor, Namrata Shirodkar, Satish Kaushik, Rekha Rao, Diana Hayden and Palak Jain. Tehzeeb is totally a women oriented movie hich has very less scope for the lone male actor Arjun Rampal. The story of the movie completely departs from regular bollywood movies. The story of the movie revolves around the life of Tehzeeb ( Urmila Matondkar ) who completely dislikes her mother because she believes that her mother Rukhsana ( Shabana Azmi ) has killed her father Anwar ( Rishi Kapoor ). Rukhsana is an established playback singer always takes pride in her being a celebrity. She was convicted for her husband’s murder.

But the court set her free because of lack of evidences against her. Tehzeeb’s life became smooth when she decided to marry Salim ( Arjun Rampal ), a renowned writer much against the wishes of her mother. She left her mother’s house and settled down in a small hill station with her hubby and retarded sister ( Dia Mirza ) far away from her mother’s reach. The story takes an ugly turn when Rukhsana came to stay with Tehzeeb for some time. Initially she liked her mother’s arrival but slowly the buried ghosts came alive once again. Overall the movie marks a new trend but it lacks the substance to be a big seller at the box offce.
