Naseruddin Shah, Paresh Rawal and Pooja Bhatt starrer action drama “Sir” was released under the producton of Mukesh Bhatt on July 9, 1993 while the movie is directed by Mahesh Bhatt and Gurudev Bhalla in unison. The story of the movie Sir talks about the issue of crime and under world which leaves a very long lasting effect on the life of common people’s life. The movie revolves around the of a professor Amar Verma ( Naseruddin Shah ) who teaches his students with very dedication. He is happily married to his wife and they have a young son. There was a raging rivalry between two underworld dons Chappan Tikle ( Gulshan ) and Grover Veljibhai ( Paresh Rawal ). They were on a constant fight with each other, many innocent people lost their lives in their fights.

Among them was Amar’s son, who also lost his life and the family was shattered into pieces. Amar’s wife also divorced him, he is all alone now. He found his pleasure in teaching his students with utmost dedication. One day he came across a girl named Pooja ( Pooja Bhatt ), who was vocally challenged, Amar decided to help her and bring her to normalcy. What he didn’t knew was that Pooja is the only daughter of Veljibhai. Amar tried to convince Veljibhai and Chappan Tikle to stop fighting and live in harmony but that wasn’t ment to be as Pooja fell in love with Chappan Tikle’s son.
