Famous director now turned actor Farhan Akhtar and super model turned actor Arjun Rampal starrer “ROCK ON” was released on 29th august 2008 . The movie is written and directed by Abhishek Kapoor under the banner of Excel Films. The other starcast of the film includes multi talented Luke Kenny, Purab Kohli, Prachi Desai, Koel Puri and Dilip Tahil. Music directors trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have given the hit rocking music of the film, the list of singers includes Farhan Akhtar himself along with Suraj Jagan and others.

Rock On is not just a musical movie but it portrays relations and their complications. The movie starts with a group of four friends Aditya ( Farhan khan ), Joe ( Arjun Ramphal ), Rob ( Luke Kenny ) and KD ( Purab Kholi ) came up with greatest ever rock band of India, “magic”, but never made it big. They get a chance to rock the world after winning a competition on channel V, but they have to make some compromises, as some complications crept into the relationship of aditya and joe and the band gets broken.

After that Aditya became a businessman and Joe kept living with his guitar. One day Joe’s wife Prachi Desai came to know about magic, to make Joe happy she calls up a reunion party for all the band members. Just like a phoenix, ten years later on the reunion the band gets a rebirth. All four then decided to to figth for another chance at channel V. With his debut film as an actor multi talented Farhan Akhtar has clearly over shadowed all the actors in the movie although other actors have done justice to their respective roles.
