Bobby Deol and Amisha Patel starrer action movie “Kranti” was produced under the banner of Vicky Films and was released on March 15, 2002. The movie is directed by Naresh Malhotra. Te supporting cast of the movie includes Vinod Khanna, Kabir Bedi, Rati Agnihotri, Madan Joshi, Tej Sapru, Madan Jain, Abbas Ali Moghul, Gavin Packard, Rana Jung Bahadur and Jeetu Verma in significant roles. Kranti is a story that talks about the relations of two police officers who incidentally also happens to be father and son. ACP Abhay Pratap ( Bobby Deol ) is a young police officer who believes that the present day law system is not strong enough to deal with the ever rising crime. He has his own style of impending law, ‘justice on the spot’ on the contrary his father and also the commissioner of police Awdesh Pratap Singh ( Vinod Khanna ), is an honest officer who believes in law and works within his moral principles. While on his duty, Abhay met a young girl Sanjana Roy ( Amisha Patel ), who was doing a research on Indian police.

Soon they fell in love with each other. The normal life of the family was disturbed when Rana Pratap ( Kabir Bedi ),a rich business man entered the scenario. Rana is involved in many illegal activities, which came into the eyes of Abhay. When Rana came to know that his business is being badlyhurt by Abhay, he falsely got him jailed for a crime that he never committed. After his release from the jail his only mission is to destroy Rana and his illegal business and restore his father’s trust in him. The movie came up with an ordinary story that is narrated many times before. Overall the movie is an ordinary affair that was not a big performer at the box office.
