Jackie Shroff and Dimple Kapadia starrer bollywood family drama “Kaash” was released under the banner of Yokahama Prod. on September 4, 1987. The movie is produced by Anwar Ali and Farouq Rattonsey while the direction was handeled by a team of Harish Bhonsle, Himanshu Brahmbhatt, Mahesh Bhatt and Ravi Rai. Other cast of the movie includes Satish Kaushik, Anupam Kher, Makrand Shukla, Mehmood, Dalip Tahil, Mukri and Avtar Gill. The melodious music of the movie is composed and directed by Rajesh Roshan while the songs are sung by Anupama Deshpande, Mohammad Aziz, Asha Bhosle, Sonali Bajpai, Talat Mahmood and Kishore Kumar.

The movie comes up with a story that revolves around the life of a film celebrity whose prime has passed away and now he is contempt to live the life of an ordinary man. The movie focuses on the life of Ritesh ( Jackie Shroff ), who was a big star in the movie world but slowly his prime declined and he was under a great debt of the film producers and other people. He still lives in the past when he was a hero and reuses to believe his present scenario. He is married to a beautiful wife Pooja ( Dimple Kapadia ) who has to work in order to run her family affairs.

Soon Ritesh under the pressure from his producers to return the money became a constant alcoholic, these instigated regular fights between him and his wife Pooja. This led their only son Romi ( Master Makrand ) being disturbed. One day a business man Alok ( Anupam Kher ) offered Pooja a job in his company but Ritesh was dead against this hence he presented an option before Pooja of choosing between her job and husband, she choose the former. Now after a case in the court Ritesh was able to win the custody of his son, but soon he was diagnosed of being a cancer patient. What happens next??
