The movie “Jannat” starring Emraan Hashmi and Sonal Chauhan was released on May 16, 2008. The movie is directed by Kunal Deshmukh and produced under the banner of Vishesh Films. Jannat is yet another real life motivated movie from the Bhatt camp. The movie is based on the match fixing in cricket. But it is not truly cricket through out the movie, rather it is more of a love story also. The movie is both directed and written by newcomers who have done a great job. The movie has a great screenplay and deadly cinematography. The movie revolves around Arjun Dixit ( Emraan Hashmi ) a chronic gambler, who plays cards to earn money. A beautiful girl Zoya ( Sonal Chauhan ) came into his life which gave his life a new direction and a reason to move out of his regular life.

Suddenly he left his life of a small card player and in order to earn big bucks quickly he turns into a bookie and started gambling on cricket. Soon he enters into the world of match fixing. Now he had the option of choosing between his love and this match fixing business, which he is unable to figure out. He gets trapped deeper and deeper into the world of match fixing and soon he gets involved with the underworld don. The movie is completely new to the screen and has freshness about it. The actors have performed brilliantly specially Emraan Hashmi, right from his first film hae has continuously improved his acting skills and did a wonderful job in this one. Overall the movie is a great entertainer to watch.
