Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Prada and Aditya Pancholi starrer bollywood fantasy “Jaadugar” was released under the production of Prakash Mehra on August 25, 1989 also the movie is directed by Prakash Mehra himself. Other cast of the movie Pran, Amrita Singh, Amrish Puri, Raza Murad, Ram Sethi, Bharat Bhushan, Johny Lever, Vikas Anand, Suresh Chatwal, Bob Christo, Leena Das, C S Dube and Raja Murad. The movie Jaadugar comes up with a story that revolves around the superstitions and myths that are still prevailing in the Indian society. The movie revolves around the life of a young man called Shankar Narayan ( Aditya Pancholi ) who returns back to India after completing his higher studies in America. He was totally taken by surprise to see his father Mahaprabhu Janak Sagar Jagat Narayan ( Amrish Puri ) fooling around the people of village who treat him as a god. Jagat Narayan was once a criminal and has spent some time in jail. He came across some magicians who taught him some tricks.

After his release from the jail he started this business. He became a saint in front of the people and tricked them into believing him by showing them some tricks. Shankar Narayan tried to open the eyes of the villagers but everything was in vain. One day he came across a dynamic magician Goga ( Amitabh Bachchan ) and was very impressed by his magical tricks. He requested him to visit his village Dharampur and help him bust his father’s fake identity. Goga reached the village and started unearthing all the myths and superstitions one by one but in the process people of the village started treating him as their new god Gogeshwar.
