Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini starrer Baghban is directed by Ravi Chopra. The other starcast of the film includes Salman Khan, Mahima Chaudhary and Rimi Sen. The film also stars Paresh Rawal and Lillette Dubey in powerful supporting roles who are with the couple in testing times. The movie was released on October 3, 2003 under the banner of B. R. Films. Music director Uttam Singh and Aadesh Srivastava has given the soulful and melodious music of the film. The list of singers in the film includes the names of Sudesh Bhonsle, Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan etc. Amitabh Bachchan sang three songs himself in the film. Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini were paired opposite each other in the film after almost 20 years since their their last film together in 1983 titled Nastik. The film was well received by the audience and became one of the biggest hit of the Chopra camp.

The movie starts of with Raj Malhotra ( Amitabh Bachchan ) and his beautiful wife Pooja ( Hema Malini ). They have four sons Ajay ( Aman Verma ), Sanjay ( Sameer Soni ), Rohit ( Saahil Chadda ), and Karan ( Nasir Khan ). Raj and Pooja loves their children and has done everything possible for them. They also have an adopted son Alok ( Salman Khan ) who is working abroad. Alok is in love with a beautiful girl Arpita ( Mahima Chaudhary ). Everything is looking good till Raj get retires form his job. He and Pooja decide to live with their kids so that they could get their love.

But the problem is that their kids don’t want to keep them. They infact decides to seperate the aged parents. The parents recieves horrible treatment from their children. One day, on their wedding anniversery, the parents decides to meet. After spending quality time with each other they finally decides to leave their children alone. Raj decides to write a book on their days with their children titled Baghban. The book becomes a hit and he wins a cash award and gains popularity. Now once again the so called children come back to their parents and asks for their forgiveness. But now Raj and Pooja knows what they are up to and therefore ignores them.
