Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol and Dharmendra starrer bollywood movie “Apne” was produced under the banners of Glamour Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and Prime Focus Ltd. The movie is directed by Anil Sharma and was released on June 29, 2007. Other star cast of the movie includes Katrina Kaif, Shilpa Shetty, Kirron Kher, Victor Banerjee, Javed Sheikh, Aryan Vaid, Divya Dutta, Kurush Deboo, Jonnie Brown, Marvina Vinique and Jonathan Samson. The music of the movie is composed and directed by Himesh Reshammiya and the melodious songs of the movie are sung by Himesh Reshammiya, Akruti Kakkar, Sonu Nigam, Jayesh Gandhi, Jaspinder Narula, Shaan, Kunal Ganjawala, Amrita Kak and Earl. The movie is a completely dominated by the Deol family.

Apne is another emotional venture from the creative mind of director Anil Sharma, who has given great hits like Gadar. Apne also casts the whole Deol family as the leading characters of the movie. The movie is filled with emotions and drama to make viewers stick to their seats. The screenplay of the movie is a bit lengthy but none the less it is great one to look. The story is based on the relations of a father and his two sons who lived up to his dreams. The movie is centered around Baldev Singh Choudhary ( Dharmendra ), an Olympic silver medalist in boxing. He is the father of two sons: Angand ( Sunny ) and Karan ( Bobby Deol ). He had the dream of becoming the world heavyweight champion in boxing for India. Before he could realize his dream, set up by the betting mafia, he was disqualified for alleged use of drugs. This was the biggest setback of his life.

He trained his younger son in the boxing arena from the childhood and started living his dream through him. But Angand had his other plans and he no more wanted to fight in the boxing arena. His younger son Karan who is a musician also can’t help him. But after some time he realized his father’s dream and started training to live his father’s dream. There’s not much of a scope for the female actors though they looked good in instances in the movie. Both Dharmendra and Sunny Deol have delivered their best on the screen. The movie is very griping at instances, but the consistence is not maintained through out the movie. The songs of the movie are also not that great as the other movies of this genre do have. Overall the movie is a great one to watch for all its emotions and drama.
