Akshaye Khanna, Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor starrer thriller “36 China Town” was released under the banner of Mukta Arts Ltd on May 5, 2006. The movie was directed by Abbas Burmawalla and Mustan Burmawalla. Director duo Abbas-Mustan has a history of being in a number of hit thrillers, from Baazigar to Khiladi all of them had been a great success at the box office. The duo again comes up with another thriller 36 China Town. The movie is very well directed by them right from the start till the end the movie looks attractive, the only flaw is the script of the movie. The writer has tried to pack so many things into the full duration of the movie. A rich women Sonia ( Isha Kopikar ) is the owner of a big casino in Goa. She had only a small kid to call her family. One day he is gone missing and she announces a reward of rupees 20 lacks, to the one who brings him back. Priya ( Kareena Kapoor ) and raj ( Shahid Kapoor ) spotted the little child at the same time.

Both agreed to share the reward money and brought him back to Sonia’s Mansion. To their shocking surprise they found her murdered at her place. In the niche of the hour they ran away from the mansion. Priya made a mistake by leaving her bag in the mansion. They were trapped down by investigating officer ( Akshaye Khanna ). But as the investigation went through many other characters came under the suspicion. Two couples were thought of as the initial murderers but then a playboy Rocky ( Upen Patel ) came under the scanner of the investigating officer. As the story moves on the suspense deepens and the question arises who is the eventual murderer. The movie had a great screenplay and wonderful cinematography. Overall the movie is not as great as it is thought of as it lacks in the department of writing.
