Arjun Rampal and Preity Zinta starrer “Dil Hai Tunhaara” was released on September 6, 2002. The movie was produced by Kumar S Taurani and Ramesh S Taurani under the banner of Tips Music Films. The movie was directed by Kundan Shah. The movie was shot in the beautiful locations of New Zealand. The movie is about the mother-daughter relationship. It talks about the partialities that one girl is done only because she is a step daughter, although the girl is beautiful, talented, vivacious and outspoken. But her numb sister gets all her mother’s love. The story is of Saritaji ( Rekha ) who is an influential politician, and her two daughter one is cool and happening Shalu ( Priety Zinta ) and other is soft spoken and sophisticated Nimmi ( Mahima Chaudhary ). Shalu is smart and makes friends every where but she couldn’t befriend with her mother. She is like a thorn in her mother’s heart. She could never understand the reason behind. Then comes Dav ( Arjun Rampal ) son of businessman ( Alok Nath ).

Shalu falls in love with him and he too was touches by her beauty and serenity. Soon the couple was under strong feeling of love and emotion. But inadvertently one of the gifts sent to shalu was delivered to Nimmi and she thought that Dev loves him. She was overjoyed so she told her best friend, her sister about it. Now Shalu had to sway away so that Nimmi doesn’t get hurt. She tells Nimmi that she loves Samir ( Jimmy Shergil ) who is a ventriloquist. He is shy and loves Shalu but could not express his feelings to Shalu. Soon Dev was about to getting married to Nimmi but the marriage was threatened by the truth that Shalu is illegal daughter of Saritaji. Movie was not a success because of overloaded emotions and darma. It was a flop.
